Playtime Toy Store is designed for children. Not only can you find unique products and services that you can't find anywhere else in Durant, but they really want your kids to come in and play! They have play stations set up throughout the store as well as a play room! You can try before you buy, or simply shop in peace while the little ones are enjoying all the fun activities. They can dress up paper dolls, work on a puzzle, drive a train along its track, and so much more!
The inspiration for Playtime Toy Store came to owner, Amy Hart, after vacation visits to old time downtown toy stores. Amy wanted to bring that unique, playful vibe back home to Durant. She has kids of her own and appreciates the value of a kid-friendly, kid-centered environment.
But Playtime is not JUST for kids! They offer a section of adult party games, gifts, and candy too. I brought my teenage daughter in the other day and she left with a handful of candy sticks! You can find games, train sets, vintage toys, dolls, candy, a custom animal making station (think Build-A-Bear), a party room and more at the Playtime Toy Store.
Playtime offers seasonal activities too. On Saturday December 7th, 14th, and 21st, Santa will be flying in. Children are welcome to come sit on Santa's lap and parents have the option of purchasing beautiful, affordable photos. Playtime will offer a letter writing station from December 1 -15th. Children can craft their letters to Santa on lively letterhead and deliver them to our downtown mailbox. Playtime is offering layaway between now and December 21st and holiday gift wrapping.
