Kassi Wilkey
"Hi there! Thanks for taking a minute to learn a little bit more about me. Here’s a quick rundown! In 2008, my parents dragged me to a small town named Durant just south of where I grew up. I didn’t know anyone and swore as soon as I could live on my own that I would be out of here. But the Lord works in mysterious ways and little did I know that my distaste would slowly grow and transform into a deep love for a town I don’t ever want to leave.
To my surprise, I flourished shortly after moving here and graduated top of my class for Durant High School in 2013 (go Lions!) In my junior year of High School, my marketing teacher planted a love for branding and marketing in me that I still have to this day. When I decided to further my education at Southeastern Oklahoma State University, I knew marketing would be the degree for me and I explored that through the honors program. In 2017, with my bachelor’s degree in Business (with an emphasis in Marketing) in hand, I set out to obtain my real estate license. I love real estate because it allows me to flex the creative side of my brain while also teaching and guiding others along their own personal journey to homeownership. (Where are my enneagram 2w3 friends at?)
I live here in Durant with my sweet husband, Chase, who co-owns his family business Wilkey Plumbing. Because of both of our hands in entrepreneurship, my love for small businesses runs deep. I volunteer where I can in our community and my favorite place to do so is as Board President of Durant Main Street. I love to work alongside our community volunteers and small business owners to help create a beautiful and unique district that we all can enjoy.
When I’m not working you can usually find me having a glass of wine (Chardonnay please!) with my friends downtown, walking our two cute goldendoodles named Kevin & Willie, or at Lake Texoma with Chase in the summertime. I’m so thankful to my parents for dragging me to this beautiful town that has shown me what a true community looks like. I hope you get to have the pleasure of enjoying Durant, OK as I have! Cheers!"
Tascha Bond
Tascha Bond is the co-owner of Bond Laundry Company, alongside her husband Brian. She is also a licensed realtor with Brewer Realty Group and the Instructor of Multi-Media Journalism and Advisor of Student Publications at Southeastern Oklahoma State University. When she is not working hard she loves to read, watch supercross and spend time with her family. And she recently found that Netflix binge watching is a real thing. Tascha is the immediate Past President of the Durant Lions Club and Durant Main Street Board. She and Brian have two beautiful daughters, Hailey and Gentry.
Taylor Downs
Taylor is a lifelong resident of Durant, graduating from Durant high school in 2009, and southeastern Oklahoma State University in both 2012 and 2015. Taylor is a third-generation Durant resident, and thinks this is the perfect place to live, raise a family, and own a business. Taylor is a 3rd grade teacher at Northwest Heights Elementary, and owner/broker of Turnkey Realty, LLC. Taylor is serving his second 3 year term on the Durant Main Street board of directors and has held previous spots as assistant director and director and currently serves as the committee chair for the annual Dancing With the Stars fundraising event. When not working or volunteering, Taylor enjoys spending time with his family and friends, specifically, his two nephews, Beau and Brooks Marcum!
Dani Mackey
Dani Mackey loves Durant. She started her life here as a baby, her family moved when she was in 4th grade, and she came right back when she graduated high school and is still here 17 years later.
She earned her Musical Theatre degree from Southeastern Oklahoma State University and holds dearly to her heart her time spent there.
Dani is married to small business owner, Aaron Mackey. They have 2 sons, Ian and Jake.
Dani serves Victory Life Church as the Social Media Content Manager.
She has served on the Durant Main Street and Oklahoma Shakespearean Festival boards for 1 year.
Dani's favorite phrase is, "I hope today has a good you."
Amy Rawlings
Ami is a relative newcomer to Durant. Having lived here only 5 years, she was quickly inspired and encouraged by the spreading energy to bring the downtown district back to life. Ami and her husband Shaun jumped at the opportunity to purchase the old Opera House building and turn it into a coffee shop worthy of an historic Main Street vibe. Opera House Coffee was born out of a desire to see Durant thrive and to be a place that is welcoming to natives and visitors alike.
Ami is entering her second year as a Main Street board member and looks forward to working with such an enthusiastic group working toward the betterment of our town.
Joey McWilliams
Joey McWilliams came to Durant in 1989 as a freshman at Southeastern Oklahoma State University and has lived in and around the city ever since.
He has served on staff at Abundant Life Texoma and Victory Life Church for many years and now is the owner of Emerald Quest, a media company which includes the sites: OklahomaSports.Net and Bryan County Patriot.
Joey married Durant High School alum Jodi (Houx) and the two will celebrate 27 years of marriage in October. They have five wonderful children - Jacey, Jenna, Jayla, Jolie and Jake - and two grandchildren – Jayleigh and Jasper.
He is excited to have the opportunity to serve Durant with the Main Street Board.
