World's Largest Peanut

3rd & Evergreen Street
Durant, OK 74701

The "World's Largest Peanut" is located on the Southeast Corner of the Durant City Hall. The monument is a must see for visitors to the Durant area. Every day out of town guests to our city enjoy taking their pictures in front of it, especially younger children. This monument was dedicated to the Bryan County Peanut Growers and Processors on November 15, 1974. Historically agriculture has always been a strong economic engine for Bryan County, and while the area continues to diversify into other areas of commerce, agriculture will always be an important part of the community. A few feet in front of the monument a time capsule was buried on June 16, 1973 which is supposed to be reopened in June of 2023. This will be an exciting event everyone should attend.
