Spotlight Vendors Released
2010-02-05 09:23:46Durant Main Street will hold their Eleventh Annual Spotlight on Special Occasions on Saturday, February 6, 2010. Lifespan Counseling sponsors this event to be emceed by KTEN’s Sterling Riggs. Organizers feel an outstanding lineup of vendors will be offered.
Spotlight on Special Occasions will feature local businesses that can help you plan and prepare for your particular experience. Vendors planning to be at the Spotlight will include: Scentsy, A-1 Wedding & Party Rentals, Factory Connection, B&B Custom Cakes, The Plaza, Studio One Photography, Curtis Jewelry, Iron Gate Café, Bliss Boutique, J.J. Mundi, Spring Hill Ranch, Choctaw Casino and Resort, Lifespan Counseling, and Designs by Kristina.
The event will be held from 11:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. at Southeastern Oklahoma State University’s Visual and Performing Arts Center. Vendor booths will be open for viewing and visiting throughout the fair. Displays, handouts, and sample books will be made available to the public. Caterers will be highlighting their specialties in a food section, and additional food will be available for purchase. At 2:00, the grand finale style show of casual, prom and bridal fashions will be held.
Mini-style shows will be held throughout the day. They will include tips on ways to make clothes fit better as well as how to look better. Etiquette, fashion corrections, and relaxation will be addressed along with the style shows. Many attend just to see the current trends in casual wear.
Models appearing at the style show will include: Heather Childs, Barbara Marlow, Maddison Williams, Kylie Sinor (Durant); Mykah Staples, Mandy Owens,Kelsea Butler, Albanie Beck, and Stormy Hise (Antlers); Brittany Hopkins (Silo); Hannah Scott (Sherman); Bailey Barnett (Tom Bean); Meagan Jumper, Montana Anderson (Ada); Chelsea Miller, Bailee Weger, Ginavee Mowles, Brandon Bridges (Colbert), Emily Benefield (Byng).
Young Models: Taryn Morris, Rachel Carlile, Tamara Morris (Rattan); Rebecca Southerland, Lexie Young, Madilyn Scott, Olivia Haworth, Payton Al-Khateib, Tristen Boucher, Claire Soltis (Durant); Kaitlyn Browning (Calera); and Jaime Hollingsworth, Taylor Dancer, Kristen Hall, Mattie Fox (Bennington).
Donna Dow, Durant Main Street Program Manager, commented, “Our Promotion Committee is looking forward to the show. We want people to come early and stay throughout the event. We are working on a special set for our style shows. This year’s theme Hawaiian. And we will have great door prizes.”
For tickets or more information, you may call 580-924-1550. The tickets can be purchased at 110 N. Second and are only $8 in advance or $10 at the door. A special offer through Friday afternoon allows those bringing friends to obtain 5 for $25. Tickets entitle attendees to a special publication premiered at the event, the opportunity to sample the food presented by the caterers, and chances to win door prizes. Special attractions include being able to visit with the vendors and watching the style shows. The door prizes will be given away every 30 minutes (must be present to win), and will include jewelry, pampering, and more.
