Chick Trip Weekend Set in Durant
2010-01-22 23:49:53Durant Main Street is offering a Chick Trip with the annual Spotlight on Special Occasions to be held on Saturday, February 6. Ladies are invited to take advantages of opportunities in Downtown Durant to eat, shop, and relax. Package deals are available and all trips will be customized at the direction of the participant.
An overnight stay will be involved as the trip begins on Friday and could even run into Sunday morning. A menu of choices will be made available to participants. This list could include exercising, shopping, dining, attending the exhibit at the Three Valley Museum, style advice, gaming, spa services, and more.
The Eleventh Annual Spotlight on Special Occasions Style Show presented by Lifespan Counseling will highlight the weekend on Saturday, February 6, 2010. This event will feature local businesses that provide services and merchandise of interest to those planning special events.
The Spotlight, held from 11:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. at Southeastern Oklahoma State University’s Visual and Performing Arts Center, is open to the public. Vendor booths will be open for viewing and visiting throughout the fair. Displays, handouts, and sample books will be available. Caterers will be highlighting their specialties in a food section.
At noon, 1:00, and 2:00, style shows of the latest fashions will be held. Common fashion mistakes will be corrected on the runway. Information will be available on how to look your best every day or at your own very special event.
Tickets are $10.00 at the door or 5 for $25 in advance. Advance tickets can be obtained from the Durant Main Street office at 110 N. Second. Credit card orders will be accepted. Tickets entitle the attendee to a special publication, chances on door prizes, to visit with the vendors, to sample foods, to any discounts that may be given by the businesses, and to view the latest fashions.
Door prizes donated by participating businesses will be given every ½ hour, and the winner must be present. A trip, jewelry, gift certificates and more will be given away. Tickets will be available at the door as room allows. Call 580-924-1550 or visit www.durantmainstreet.org for more information.
