Modeling Clinic Set for Jan. 16

2010-01-03 23:59:49Durant Main Street is sponsoring a modeling clinic for area youth on Jan. 16, 2010. The clinic is a prelude to the annual Spotlight on Special Occasions Style Show and will begin at 9:00 a.m. promptly at the Northwest Heights Cafeteria. Check-in will be from 8:00 – 9:00 a.m. This year, a separate clinic has been developed for ages 9-13 after numerous requests in previous years. The 14-19 age groups will still have their own section for males and females combined. Modeling, walking on stage, and learning how to project self-confidence will be the highlight of the day. The event is for young men and ladies ages. Makeup application (including stage tips), skin care, and a hairstyling demonstration will also be featured. The cost is $10 per person (includes lunch). This clinic will help to ready models for the Spotlight style show on February 6 as well as the Magnolia pageant, county school pageants, Fairest of the Fair, and any other pageants or style shows a person chooses to compete in. It will also help those not interested in modeling with self-confidence, walking gracefully, makeup, hairstyling, and more. The event will last from 9:00 – 4:30. From 9:00 until 12:30, the leaders will conduct the clinic for the older age group. Lunch will be served after a session on makeup. Try outs for modeling in the Style Show will be held at 1:30 p.m. Area businesses will select models at this time. Afterward, glamour shots will be taken for a nominal fee for those interested. Registration is limited, and people have been turned away in the past. Every effort will be made to accommodate all interested in participating. Deadline for registration is January 12, 2010. Forms will be available at the Durant Main Street office and at school offices. Please call 580-924-1550 or e-mail ddow@durantmainstreet.org if you have any questions.
