The band members are now ages 16, 17, and 18. Edge of the End formed 3 1/2 years ago for a Talent Show at Coalgate High School. Four friends got together and started practicing every night for the competition, but the show never got past the planning stages. The members of the band at that time, were 14, 15, and 16 years old. They started playing at the local festivities, such as the 4th of July, Car Shows, Birthday parties, pep rallies, and entered several Battle of the Bands. They then started playing at rock venues, at Liberty Theater, The Crush Lounge, and The Dawg House, and numerous others. They have played at Bricktown Live and Bricktown Ballroom in Oklahoma City, and at Lake Texoma for the 4th of July. The lineup for the remainder of the season has also been set. Grandpa’s Neighbors will be on hand August 20. August 27 will feature Larry Whaley who will return on September 17. Morris McCann is proud to be back on Market Square for September 3, and Mikayla Lee will perform on September 10. Of course, Country Explosion will end the season on September 24. “I’ve heard a lot of good things about this band, and I’m certain the youngsters will enjoy hearing them,” shared Donna Dow, Durant Main Street Program Manager.
