Music on Market Square
2009-06-24 23:39:28Durant Main Street announced this week’s Music on Market Square will begin at 6 p.m. with jazz and continue at 7 p.m. with blueegrass. The public is invited to the outdoor stage at First and Evergreen in Downtown Durant to hear good music in a relaxed atmosphere.
Tony Tiger’s Jazz All Stars will start the show early at 6 p.m. These outstanding jazz performers are from throughout the Texoma area. The featured vocalist is Jodi McWilliams. Musicians include the trumpet player Mark Price and trombone master Chris Gregg. They play the Music of Count Basie, Ray Charles, Etta James, Stevie Wonder, and Maynard Ferguson.
Alice Craig and Blue Mountain will be this week’s featured group to start at the regular time of 7 p.m. Their first performance on the Square was at the recent Texoma Arts Jubilee in April. They had a great time on Main Street with their acoustic bluegrass show, and they continued with a performance on the stage. Their pure sound is sure to entertain the crowd.
